Andrew Oxley - Quality Assurance
I had two plans when I first enrolled In the Bachelor of Computing Systems at Unitec New Zealand:
1. To finish my degree and go on my OE.
2. To get a job that involves IT & Sport.
Sotic was the perfect solution! At Sotic I do a range of jobs from the initial planning and writing of specifications for the products, to testing the final build before release.
I get asked what is Quality Assurance in software development? Most answers are to do with testing before the product is released, but I like to look at it as making sure the product is built correctly on pen and paper (MS Word) before any work begins.
Working (and living) in London is a great opportunity for me and there is always something new and enjoyable every day. I am looking eagerly forward to the Football World Cup (Final: New Zealand 2 - 0 Spain) in June/July and exciting future projects at Sotic!

Delivery for MatchDayMail
We have been busy migrating each project to the new MatchDayMail sending engine over the last few months. Now that this is completed, most clients will be experiencing improved deliverability and faster sending times of up to 3000 emails per minute.
The next stage of the migration to MatchDayMail is to replace the existing user interface (Manage ezines) with MatchDayMail Lite. The new interface has been designed with an easy step by step process for creating and sending mailings, and has a few extra features such as rich text editing and personalisation. Our first customers are switching to MatchDayMail Lite this week, and we will be contacting you shortly with training details.
Finally, MatchDayMail Plus is also now available with a number of customers already benefiting from many of the extra features it offers. This advanced mailing software lets you segment your lists, set-up autoresponders, automatically track and react to subscriber actions, and much more. The premium version is available for an extra cost - please contact us if you would like further information or a free demostration session.

Katie Nattress
Hi everyone! I'm Katie and I started working in the Hastings office end of March after eight very, very ,very long months of trying to find a job after finishing university in July last year.
I have replaced Suzanne whom is on her amazing South American bike trip, so I work in content support with Sean, who I must say has been a very patient teacher.
I have lots of brothers and sisters (5 in total, we don't all live together thank goodness), three cats, a normal sized rabbit, a giant sized rabbit and a snake (which also doesn't live with me, which is a good thing considering I really don't like them). I like to spend my time with my family and friends and taking lots of pictures with my big shiny camera.

Crunch time in the Heineken Cup

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Munster and Leinster for making the Heineken Cup semi finals! After Cardiff's solid performance in the Quarter Final they now have an important Semi Final in the Challenge Cup.
It is now crunch time in the Magners League and Guinness Premiership - at both ends of the table. We wish the boys of each team the best of luck.
...So when will I be able to watch the winner of Super 14 take on the winner of Heineken Cup... one can always dream.

April will continue to be an exciting month for all as it becomes crunch time in all rugby competitions, especially the big St Georges Day game at Twickenham, the home of rugby.
I hope you have enjoyed the newsletter and please contact Sotic if you would like further information about any of our products mentioned. I now leave you with my final words: What will come first - New Zealand winning another Rugby World Cup, or Ireland finally beating New Zealand? I think we all know the answer...
E noho ra,
Andrew
