%IF $FIRSTNAME != 'Subscriber'%Dear %FIRSTNAME%,
%/IF%Welcome to the February 2010 edition of the Sotic newsletter and greetings from Wales! As the RBS 6 Nations prepares to kick off once more, this month's newsletter comes from a country of true Grand Slam pedigree (okay, so not last year admittedly, nor this year for that matter); compiled by one of the Sotic exiles and only Welshman; Roly (Lamb Jalfrezi), in Cardiff.
Read on to find out what we we've been getting up to during the past few weeks ...

Roland Mercer - Head of Production
Most of you will know me as Roly. I joined Sotic in June 2008 and head up the production side of the Content & Production team.
As one of Sotic's two office-exiles (Jonathan's the other), my commute to work usually involves walking up eleven steps, turning left, left again and pulling out my chair from under the desk in my study (I'm currently on my third chair since I started so the London and Hastings offices are probably breathing a sigh of relief).
Most of you will have come across me either through a support-related query where C&P are the initial contacts during office hours, or because I send your press releases out or through the management and build / rebuild of your website.
Working from home was an interesting transition to make but I've found it very enjoyable and there's never been a dull moment; and with a fantastic internal phone network it's been very easy to still feel part of the office, albeit in a virtual way.

CS4 webserver comes online
Sotic would like to announce the birth of CS4, our new front end webserver, weighing in at 8 Cores and 32gb of Ram. This increases the load that we can deliver and makes all sites faster to access.
As with all new siblings CS4 didn't want to play nicely with the other servers especially on the Forums, however a whack in the relevant place and all is now working.
On the subject of births and siblings, we would also like to congratulate a number of our customers who have had much more important new arrivals over the last two months, including Lyndsey Irwin, Jon Duckworth, Jon Salinger, Gwydion Griffiths and Phil Daly - here's to sleepless nights!

Facebook integration now available
Sotic is now able to offer Facebook integration for our clients. The integration works in a similar way to our Twitter integration allowing the simple but effective application and syndication of news content accross to official Facebook pages. All you need is a Facebook page and we can get started!
This integration extends the social media offerings available from our platform at a time when social networking is becoming ever more important in the marketing and customer relations side of the sports industry.
For further information on Facebook and Twitter integration contact Jonathan McConnell or Roland Mercer.

Frances Preedy
Hello, my name is Frances Preedy and I joined Sotic last summer as Office Manager and I am based in our Hastings office. My last job involved managing a team of over 140 volunteers at a historic house and gardens. I also organised and ran their annual events programme.
At Sotic, my role covers the behind the scenes organisation and maintenance, usual to most companies, and includes, client contracts, human resources, monthly reports, office management and admin support to the directors. Last, but not least, I make a very good cup of tea!

Super League is back
The engage Super League has returned for another season.
Sotic wish the best of luck to our two participating clients Harlequins Rugby League www.league.quins.co.uk and the reigning champions Leeds Rhinos.
The Rhinos helped keep Sotic's clean sweep of 'rugby' tournament silverware running in 2009 with their third Super League title in a row and fans can check out the defence of their title as it unfolds across the season in detail at www.therhinos.co.uk.
Both sites boast comprehensive integrated data, with head to heads for every game, full player stats, live scores and tables.

So that's it for the February edition, which I think leaves me just enough time to catch a breath before Saturday's must win clash between Wales and Scotland in Cardiff.
Last weekend's result has knocked all of the headstrong bias about winning every game out of me, but if results go our way, there's no reason why the photo above couldn't happen again this year ;-)!
Of course I could be letting myself in for some stick on Monday morning so if we should lose again, please remember to be kind to the chap on Daytime Support when you speak to him ;-)
Cheers
Roly
