Thursday 19th March 2009

Thank you for all the kind words and e-mails we have received since the publication of our Social Capital Report . It is down to the combined efforts of all host children and parents, schools in the UK, organisers abroad and the very generous support of every sponsor that we have made such a difference to so many kids around the world. Please find it on the touraid website if you missed it the first time around. AB

Golden Stars inspire Danes Hill School
The Little Golden Stars from Ghana made such an impact on their host community at Danes Hill School that the parents are setting up a charity to maintain the links and relationships created when the tour took place last October. The aim of the charity is to ensure all the youngsters are maintained in education and meetings have taken place at touraid offices, with Gifty Annan Myers, President of the Ghana Rugby Football Federation.
Please contact Rachel Disley-May rdisley123@aol.com for more information.

Tourism and Education Officials Visit Ripley Court School
Ripley Court School recently welcomed delegates from the Tobago House of Assembly, as part of a new education programme, 'Sounds Like Tobago', funded by the Tobago Government.
Andrew Gough, Headmaster of Ripley Court said, "Our thanks go to touraid for their tremendous work in raising the funds and organising the children's visit last October. That visit has led to our continuing relationship with the tourism and education officials from Trinidad and Tobago and we look forward to hosting more disadvantaged children from those parts in the future."

Notable attendees included Max Clifford and Quins players Will Skinner, Andy Gomersall, Mark Lambert, Chris Robshaw and James Percival. All our thanks to Suzanne Wootten for her tremendous hard work. The dinner raised over £15k for touraid. We hope that this will become an annual event.
